Mission Action Day

Mission Action Day (M.A.D.) is one of the most anticipated events at John Paul College, bringing students, staff, and families together in a spirit of generosity and community. As the College’s biggest fundraising event of the year, M.A.D. supports four House charities through student-led activities, sponsorships, and stalls.

How parents can get involved:

The success of M.A.D. relies on the generous support of parents and guardians. By sponsoring students or making donations, families directly contribute to programs that assist those in need.

Sponsor your child – Encourage fundraising efforts by pledging support for the whole-school walk-a-thon or a chosen activity.

Donate to House charities – Funds raised support Chaminade House (Catholic Mission), D’Houet House (Caritas), Olsen House (MacKillop Family Services), and Turner House (JPC Community Companion Van).

Pre-purchase tokens – Ensure your child enjoys the food and game stalls by purchasing tokens in advance. Buy 6 tokens for just $5.

Business contributions – If you or someone you know owns a business, consider donating goods or services for a raffle or participating in the event. For more details, contact Kim Tedford, Director of Faith and Mission, at tedfordk@jpc.vic.edu.au.

What to expect on M.A.D.

Walk-a-thon and sponsored activities – Students gather sponsorships to participate in the whole-school walk-a-thon and other activities.

Community festival – Senior students run stalls, games, and competitions to raise additional funds.

Casual dress and outdoor fun – Students are encouraged to wear casual clothes, bring a hat and sunscreen, and enjoy a picnic-style lunch on the ovals.

By supporting M.A.D., families help instil a lifelong sense of social responsibility while making a meaningful impact on those in need. Thank you for your generosity in making Mission Action Day 2025 a success.
