Term 1 was a big one for sport at JPC!
We kicked off the year with two exciting House Carnivals - the Middle Swimming Carnival and Cross Country - as well as numerous Southern Independent School (SIS) sports competitions. Chaminade House dominated both the pool and the cross country course, winning the Middle Swimming Carnival with 937 points and securing victory in Cross Country with 504 points.
A total of 117 intermediate and senior students participated in weekly SIS sport across 10 teams. A special congratulations to the Intermediate Boys Outdoor Cricket team on a perfect season, capped off with a Grand Final win over St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar. Well done to Coach Tom Laverack and the team on bringing home the pennant! The Intermediate Boys Handball team also made it to the grand final, which will take place early in Term 2.
We also had students compete in the SIS Swim Relay Carnival, a fantastic opportunity for those preparing for the Division A Carnival at MSAC in Term 2. Looking ahead, Term 2 will feature the House Athletics Carnival, 15 weekly SIS teams, the SIS Cross Country event, and continued dedication from our Aerobics teams as they prepare for the State Qualifying competition in early May.
Stay tuned for updates on Term 2 sports!
