For the second year in a row, John Paul College proudly hosted the annual Southern Independent Schools (SIS) Teen Chef Competition in our state-of-the-art Food Technology building. Our skilled JPC team was joined by talented chefs from nine other SIS schools, coming together to showcase a vibrant array of student creativity and culinary skills.
Participants were challenged to prepare dishes fitting the theme of citrus, and their hard work was evident in their presentations. JPC Year 11 students Quinn and Daniel prepared a main dish of grilled lemon octopus with cous cous salad and white bean hummus, while Ella-Grace and Anna crafted a blood orange meringue tart for the dessert dish.
The competition was judged by esteemed chefs from the Australian Culinary Federation, who evaluated the dishes based on presentation, taste, and technique. The innovative combinations and sophisticated techniques on display earned high praise from the judges.
