To mark the commencement of Term 3, the College gathered for a formal assembly. Awards were presented to students for sporting achievements in swimming, cross country, and athletics. Students who have accumulated over 100 College Commendation points also received their Bronze Badge. These badges, earned through participation in school activities, academic accomplishments, and upholding our College’s core values, signify a strong commitment to John Paul College and its mission and should be worn with pride.
The assembly featured a musical performance by talented musicians and a presentation from Year 11 students about their Philippines Immersion experiences. Participants shared memorable moments, such as meeting wonderful people, sharing meals, and engaging in prayer, conversation, and games. They thanked staff and the Immersion facilitators for their support and expressed their dedication to making a positive impact in the world.
We also reflected on the outstanding success of this year’s College production of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’. This year’s production saw significant growth in cast numbers, upgraded props and lighting, and the formation of many new friendships. Thanks were given to all who contributed to its success, and students were encouraged to participate in next year’s production.
The College Principal closed the assembly, praising the success of the Subject Selection and Careers Expo and reminding students to carefully consider their subject choices for the upcoming year. He also encouraged the entire College community to embrace the Olympic spirit and its values of excellence, respect and friendship.
We look forward to celebrating more achievements and sharing experiences at future assemblies.
