  • Leadership Appointments: Key leadership appointments in 2023 included Dr. Edward Simons as Executive Director, alongside new directors in People & Culture, Finance & IT, Catholic Mission & Identity, and a Chief of Staff.
  • Child Safety Focus: Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of 120,000 students remains a top priority, with continued efforts to embed a child-safe culture across the system.
  • Vision for Instruction: The development of a transformative Vision for Instruction, set to launch in early 2024, emphasises excellence and equity in education, aiming to ensure every child can flourish.
  • Enriched Communities: The successful separation of the Catholic Education Commission of Victoria (CECV) from MACS led to system-wide improvements and stronger collaboration within Catholic education in Victoria.
  • Digital Transformation: 2023 saw a comprehensive reimagination of the Digital Ambition, setting the stage for transitioning from legacy IT platforms and aligning with the MACS 2030 Vision.
