Year 8 students recently stepped away from their regular school routine to take part in their Retreats, with the theme ‘Perspectives’ guiding the day. It was a great chance for them to connect with each other and gain new insights into different viewpoints.
Fun icebreaker activities helped set the tone, making everyone feel comfortable and encouraging open communication. The 'Labels We Use' activity stood out, prompting students to think about the impact of words and labels on how they see themselves and others, while also celebrating their unique qualities. Creative exercises, like ‘Blind Drawing’, added to the fun while sharpening listening and interpretation skills, giving students a fresh look at how they perceive the world.
The day also featured meaningful moments like creating a class prayer and decorating House canvases, letting students express their individuality and House pride.
Overall, it was a week full of reflection, creativity, and building connections within the Year 8 cohort and College community.
