John Paul College is thrilled to spotlight Charlie Platt, our Head of Maintenance, whose leadership extends well beyond our College.
Charlie has recently been named the senior coach at Mount Martha Soccer Club, where he will work on enhancing the Club’s performance and developing a senior squad that is both highly competitive and ready for promotion, as the club gears up to celebrate its 10th anniversary.
Charlie’s impressive football career began shortly after he arrived in Australia from the UK as a young player. He started with Cranbourne (Casey Comets) and soon made a name for himself in local football, progressing from junior teams to senior levels. His journey included successful stints with various clubs and semi-professional play during a 4-year stint living in England.
Charlie’s return to Melbourne from the UK in the late 1990s saw him contribute significantly to the local football scene, including a long-term association with Mornington. Over 20 years, he excelled as a player, coach, and administrator, receiving accolades such as a spot in Mornington's Team of the Half Century and being honoured as a lifetime member.
At John Paul College, Charlie’s meticulous attention to maintaining our facilities supports our thriving educational environment. His expertise and dedication are highly valued, and we are fortunate to have his commitment enriching our College community.
Welcome to the spotlight Charlie!
