John Paul College to Host TEDx event in 2025

22 November 2024

John Paul College is excited to announce that we will be hosting a TEDx event in March 2025, joining the global movement dedicated to sharing "ideas worth spreading." This event offers an incredible opportunity for students to engage with inspiring ideas and contribute their own unique insights to the wider community.

Students from all year levels are invited to participate as speakers for this landmark occasion. Here’s how they can get involved:

  • Explore TED talks online and identify the qualities that make them impactful.
  • Develop a unique idea to share with the world. Talks should be 5-8 minutes long and reflect their personal perspective.
  • Present their ideas to both a local audience (the College community) and a global audience (online via TED’s YouTube channel).
  • Participate in workshops to refine their ideas, enhance their presentation skills, and craft their best possible talk.
  • Undergo a selection process to determine the final line-up for the TEDx John Paul College event.

The summer holidays are the perfect time to prepare! Students can brainstorm ideas, draft outlines, and begin practicing their talks.

This is a fantastic opportunity for students to showcase their creativity and voice on a prestigious platform. Stay tuned for updates as preparations continue for what promises to be an unforgettable event!
