Edition 8, Week 9 2024

Outstanding artwork by John Paul College students was recently showcased at the Southern Independent Schools (SIS) Art, Design, and Technology Exhibition at Cube 37, Frankston Arts Centre. Featuring a remarkable collection from 16 secondary schools, the exhibition highlighted student talent in Visual Communication and Design, Art, Textiles, Studio Arts, Wood, and Technology.

Year 12 VCE VM students recently participated in two engaging incursions: a go-kart building challenge that developed teamwork and leadership skills, and road safety training focused on crash risks and post-crash actions.

The College’s inaugural House MasterChef competition was a resounding success! Students impressed with a diverse array of entrées, main courses, desserts, and platters - all featuring lemon as the key ingredient. The Food Technology rooms were filled with enthusiasm, as students showcased their culinary skills and creativity.

Year 8 students embarked on a thrilling three-day adventure at Camp Rumbug, set amidst the breathtaking South Gippsland hills. Surrounded by 200 acres of lush rainforest with views of Wilsons Promontory, this idyllic location provided the perfect backdrop for outdoor activities, personal growth, and year-level bonding.

The Senior School House Swimming Carnival was a day full of energy, fun, and friendly competition. Students brought their best to the pool, competing in a range of events and cheering loudly for their Houses, making the day an unforgettable celebration of teamwork and House pride.

The College farewelled the Class of 2024 in a memorable Valedictory celebration held at Mornington Racecourse on 23 November 2024. This significant event marked the completion of Year 12, a milestone in the lives of our students, and provided an opportunity to reflect on their achievements and experiences.

John Paul College is excited to announce that we will be hosting a TEDx event in March 2025, joining the global movement dedicated to sharing "ideas worth spreading." This event offers an incredible opportunity for students to engage with inspiring ideas and contribute their own unique insights to the wider community.

The College recently welcomed alumni from the Classes of 1984 and 1994 for a special reunion filled with connection, nostalgia, and celebration. Former classmates gathered to share stories and reminisce about their JPC days, marking this milestone event with joy and laughter.
